Hey everyone welcome to Beyond/Override. Apparently Legion/Union isn?t as simple of a system that I thought it to be (many questions throughout discord and on maple) so I decided to make a guide that will probably have plenty of mistakes so feel free to give criticism, correct any mistakes I may have made and recommendations. Also special thanks to the Ayumilove website for having this information available in English over 6 months ago when the system first came out.

Disclaimer: Things may change with the system or there may be differences in the aries version of Legion.

2017-07-26: Made the guide gg.

2017-07-26: Corrected a mistake with multiple characters (ty Cada for clarification).

2017-07-31: Updated Known issues

2017-08-01: Updated Known issues again

2017-08-04: Changes made to reflect how legion works currently.

2017-08-14: Corrected a mistake on the requirement to start legion.

2017-12-30: Added the quicker way to 200 (requires friend to leech).

2017-12-31: Cleaned up the equipment for starforce section.

2018-01-29: Revised the guide to make it more aesthetically pleasing.

2018-02-01: Calculated required damage/coin, not 100b, currently around ~300b.

2018-07-19: Changes due to tables being unavailable and to starforce area.

Pancho Sanza (coin shop) currently not implemented.

Damage required per coin is 3x the normal servers, not sure if intentional.

This guide will be separated into three main parts.

1. General Basics

2. Legion Board

3. Legion Raid

1. General Basics

What is legion/Union?

Legion is the new system put into place to replace the old character card system (the one where you could only use 9 characters RIP you won?t be missed) in favour of one that allows you to make use of bonuses of all classes and gain ?board? bonuses on a tetris board.

How do I access Legion?

Once you have a total of 500+ character levels, you can access legion on any character that is level 60 and has completed the 3rd job advancement (130 for Zero). You can access it on any character that has these requirements by accepting the quest in your light-bulb on the left-hand side of your screen or talking to Dame Appropriation.

[Legion] We are Legion

Everything Legion related will be done through the board or through Dame Appropriation who can be found in most towns.

Character Bonuses?

All characters give bonuses in tiers ranging from B/A/S/SS/SSS. These bonuses can be simple flat stat ups (Angelic buster for example gives 10/20/40/80/100 DEX) to the more important bonuses of Crit damage (Hayato, Jett, and Shade giving 1/2/3/5/6%). These bonuses will only be in effect when the respective characters are placed onto the Union/Legion board. To start with at Nameless Rank 1, you will only be able to place nine characters on the grid but as you level up you will gain more character slots to place onto your board.

5vN5nmS.jpg

Is there a point of making classes that have lackluster or even useless bonuses?

The thing is you can have multiple of the same class count towards your legion level and put multiple on the board but you can only get the bonuses of 1 character (If you put down 2 hayatos at SSS, you would get 6% crit damage, not 12%) so stacking multiple characters onto your legion will only add to your legion level and fill spaces on the board.

What are the tiers and levels?

The tiers for B/A/S/SS/SSS are as follows (with the exception of Zero which is noted below).

B

  • 60-99
  • 130-159 (Zero)
A

  • 100-139
  • 160-179 (Zero)
S

  • 140-199
  • 180-199 (Zero)
SS

  • 200-249
SSS

  • 250

2. Legion Board

Legion Board?

Ever played tetris or done a jigsaw puzzle? Well if you haven?t here?s your chance to do so. With the new Legion system, at the start, you are given a 12x10 board (120individual spaces) that you can freely place your character?s tetris pieces with the condition that you must start at the center (the 4 squares) and branching pieces must all connect to one another. In the inner board, you have basic stats such as STR, DEX, INT, LUK, HP, MP, ATK and MA. You can interchange any of these stats to whichever position you wish them to be on the inside board. Each of these stats will have 15 squares for you to fill. My personal recommendation is to fill up your main stat which gives 75 flat (affected by % stat) and that?s it for the inside board as the bonuses you get from the outer spaces are much better once you can make use of them.

An example of a what happens when you try to go against the rules of not starting from the center.

Tetris Pieces?

As mentioned before you must place tetris shapes onto your board but the catch is each main job branch (Warrior, Thief, Mage, Bowman, and Pirate) all have different shapes and the size of your tetris piece is determined by characters rank. Each respective rank gives another block (Rank B has one block, A has 2 and finally SSS has 5 blocks)

From Left to right the order is Warrior-Mage-Archer-Thief-Pirate

Ranks of B/A/S/SS/SSS are 60/100/140/200/250 respectively (Except Zero which you can see above)

Why can?t I access the rest of the board?

rsQ4rvd.jpg

To access the rest of the board, which I will reference as the outer board, you must level up your rank which can be seen on the right of the union board. Starting at Nameless Rank 4 you start to open up the outer bonuses which contain the more valuable stats such as crit damage, buff duration, ignore enemy defence, boss damage and experience rate. After you get Nameless Rank 4 you get the first outside square of stats and every two rank ups after that you get another set of outer squares. To open up the entire outer board you must attain Heroic Rank 2 which is at 6000 Character levels.

How do I level up my legion rank?

rsQ4rvd.jpg

You might have noticed on the right side of your Union board underneath your Total Level there is a Total coin count. When you have placed an attacker on the board they will start to attack a raid boss in the ?raid map?. You will notice below that there is a dps counter called Legion Raid Power which signifies how much damage all your attackers are dealing in total to the boss per second. After dealing a total of [strike]100b damage (almost certain)[/strike] ~300b damage you will gain 1 coin. Each rank has a different coin total you need in order to progress to the next rank. (The very first upgrade from Lv.1 Nameless to Lv.2 Nameless is 120 coins for example)

43f1d80fc207535d290272d4b8ec9d68.png

There are also two daily quests that you can complete on every character from dame appropriation.

Quest 1: Kill 100 Normal Wyverns inside the raid

Reward: 10 Legion Coins

Quest 2: Kill 20 Golden Wyverns inside the raid.

Reward: 20 Legion Coins

Note: Wyverns are quite tanky sporting around 800m to 1.2b hp.

3. Legion Raid

What?s in the raid/How do I redeem my coins?
By entering the raid, you can enter the ?raid map? where you can see all your attackers dealing damage to the raid boss. You can also contribute to killing the boss if you so wish but you may only deal a certain amount of damage (green health bar) before the boss disappears for you and the remaining health (purple health bar) must be done by your attackers. In the raid room, golden Wyverns and normal Wyverns will spawn that you can kill for daily quests given by Dame Appropriation (Legion NPC). You can leave at any time by clicking the retreat button on the right side and you will be teleported to a map with the main Legion npc, Dame Appropriation. After you talk to Dame, she tells you how many coins you have from Legion and will award you with all the coins you earned from the total coin count (and an extra 2 if you kill the boss? green health bar).

Note: You can only enter the Legion Raid 3 times per account now so make sure you finish your 2 daily quests for Dame Appropriation before using all your runs.

How do I increase my Raid DPS?
All of your attackers will have DPS which you can see underneath the character which is determined by two factors; level and star force.

Level
Level is the more important factor that puts you at these numbers with 0-star force. It?s self explanatory.

  • Lv.60 = ~100k/s
  • Lv.100 = ~400k/s
  • Lv.140 = ~1.9m/s
  • Lv.200 = ~8m/s
  • Lv.230 = ~14.5m/s
  • Lv.250 = ~19m/s
Star force

Star force also adds a decent chunk of raid dps (not tied to level at all but how much star force you have) and is quite recommended to increase dps if you have excess funds. I personally recommend you try to aim for 120-star force per character (on your mules) as it adds a total of ~600k dps to the character while being reasonable to attain though having more star force doesn't hurt. For every item use regular chaos scrolls which usually (as of the time of posting this) sell for around ~2m each and ends up being much cheaper than using spell traces.

Hat
  • Timeless/Reverse from Pink Bean (lvl 120)
  • Necromancer from Hilla (120)
Earrings
  • Dea Sidus Earrings from Horntail (lvl 130)
Overall
  • Timeless/Reverse from Pink Bean (lvl 120)
  • Necromancer from Hilla (120)
Gloves
  • Timeless/Reverse from Pink Bean (lvl 120)
  • Necromancer from Hilla (120)
Shoes
  • Timeless/Reverse from Pink Bean (lvl 120)
  • Necromancer from Hilla (120)
Weapon
  • Timeless/Reverse from Pink Bean (lvl 120)
  • Necromancer from Hilla (120)
Belt
  • Golden Clover Belt from Pink Bean (lvl 130)
Necklace
  • Dragon from Pink Bean (lvl 120)
Shoulder
  • Royal Black Metal Shoulder from Arkarium (lvl 120)
  • Empress Shoulder from Empress Cygnus (140)
Cape
  • Empress Cape from Empress Cygnus (the lvl 130 or 140 version)

Why these equips?

I've found that these are the easiest equips to both farm and are the cheapest to scroll/star force while still getting you to the optimal 120-star force.

Thank you for reading this guide on Maple Legion/Union if you have any comments, suggestions, recommendations, or corrections feel free to post below. I hope this helps and if you have further questions comment below and I'll try to answer them.

Have a nice day.

I'm sure you've written your guide before this one and the 5th job starforce requirement, however I think it provides a lot more detail that can be helpful in obtaining starforce.

Thanks for the guide!

I can't seem to access the legion. There's no quest, keeps showing I've not completed the prerequisite quest when talking to Dame makes no difference

Quick question - is your "total level" just the accumulation of the 12 characters you have assigned? How did you get to 4k with 12 members assigned?

If you have the requirements of 500total character levels and your character is 3rd job (different requirement for zero) try to relog and or wait until next reset. If you are playing Cadena you must do the tutorial quests in savage terminal to unlock it.

I have 8 characters that are at level 120, all of which are unable to access it. After playing the 9th character and got to 150++ I can access it already.

Seems like it's not available for characters under certain level even if you meet all the requirements
